Matt Varga The ASICS resurgence of the past few years has almost exactly lined up with the revival of Y2K styles. While the GEL-Kayano line is a clear benefactor of that wave, the GEL-1130 isn’t far behind, still championing the exact aesthetics that are back in vogue. A new three-pack of women’s styles presents a new opportunity to hop on the bandwagon, each wearing warm weather colorways to mesh with any summer outfit.
The pair in “Neutral Pink” will likely strike most recognizable to those unfamiliar with the shoe. Carrying the requisite metallic leather overlays and wide white mesh underneath, the titular shade provides some sprightly energy up top. If you take that shoe as the starting point for this pack release, the other two members iterate on what it sets up. The “White Birch” version ushers in a switch to suede overlays, holding onto peachy accents as it also injects a dose of off-white tonality into the mix. Finally, we have the pair in tints the full palette in earthy hues, bringing the wide mesh underneath closer to ecru. Dusty pink and beige alternate on the suede overlays, allowing this sneaker to work just as well in the summer and fall months.
Each of the three ASICS GEL-1130 pairs included here are up on the the Finish Line app, retailing for $95 a piece. A wider launch through ASICS channel is on the table for later this year, but not fully confirmed just yet.
