Nike revealed its vision for the future of footwear at the “Nike: On Air” event in Paris this spring, showcasing far-out prototypes and several new models on the brink of release. The latter included the Nike Zoom GT Hustle 3, the latest installment in the Beaverton brand’s heralded “Greater Than” basketball series. Along with the arrival of official images, we’re now learning that the “Blueprint” colorway is set to release on July 3rd, 2024.
The GT Hustle 3 builds on the success of its predecessor with a slew of performance-focused enhancements. Visible Zoom Air capsules appear near the forefoot, enhanced further by a sewn-in Zoom Air strobel for maximum energy storage. Nike wear-testers concluded that athletes use less oxygen when performing in the GT Hustle 3 compared to the GT Hustle 2, justifying a true data-backed upgrade. Moving up, the base features a new Radial Knit material, a softer fabric that enhances breathability and foot containment in specific areas. All in all, it’s a far cry from the mesh-heavy base of the previous edition.
Like other shoes previewed at the expo, Nike lays the groundwork for future GT Hustle 3 colorways with a fitting “Blueprint” design theme, defined by blue accents and “Bowerman – Prototype” text on the tongue. Pixelated Swoosh logos grace the lateral and medial sides, matched by dual-tone white/blue laces on an otherwise all-white base. Underfoot, gum soles and orange Air capsules complete the palette.
Given its considerable performance upgrades, the Nike Zoom GT Hustle 3 commands a $190 price tag, a notable bump from the $170 MSRP of the Hustle 2. This “Blueprint” colorway releases on July 3rd, with more new models previewed at “Nike: On Air” expected to release alongside it as part of a “Blueprint Pack” ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
