Nike Takes The Air More Uptempo Low With “Black/Gum”

One of the model's debut looks hits on reliable aesthetics.

Nike Takes The Air More Uptempo Low With “Black/Gum”

Potentially spurred by the success of the Jordan Spizike Low, the arms of Nike Inc. have rolled out new lower cuts of a few of their staple items throughout 2024. The latest to enter that canon is the Air More Uptempo, the everlasting Wilson Smith product that now offers more accessible everyday wear without toning down its zany 1990s design language. With the leaves officially changing and colder weather approaching, a frigid arrangement approaches with the Air More Uptempo Low “Black/Gum.”

A staple of autumn inspo posts for a generation, the gum sole here is the biggest driving factor in bringing seasonal atmosphere to the new half-height silo.  In contrast to recent gum Uptempo’s we’ve covered, here that underfoot unit opts for matte color and subtle texture, eschewing the flat rubber and speckle/grind finish of those past editions. Translucent visible Air gives way to a jet black upper, making for an easily digestible overall outfit. Finally, the new hardware that arrives with this off-shoot model remains eye-catching, from the modified shape of the collar to the new plush AIR text that pokes through perforated panels of suede.

The Nike Air More Uptempo Low “Black/Gum” arrives this Holiday season, just in time for the coldest months we’ve got ahead. Expect a $160 retail price once this pair materializes; enjoy official images included below while we wait.
