Some unexpected synergy between the holiday & the ISO series.

At this point, the program of monochrome SB Dunks limited to skate retailers is over a year old, with successive editions only strengthening the community bond between the Swoosh and pockets of ‘boarders around the country. However, all-black may be the most important version yet. The crop of spooky SZN releases this year is deep, a glow-in-the-dark Dunk, a true Halloween Dunk, the Jason Voorhees Air Force 1. Widening the scope to Halloween-adjacent pairs only adds more contenders, and the pair at hand is shuffled into the category in the process.

To state the obvious, the combination of jet black and the orange Swoosh on the tongue tag is why we’re drawing the connection. To assuage any push-back: yes, this is just a coincidence. “Orange Label” is a synonym for these retail-only ISO releases but also a descriptor and the branding touch makes this pair serendipitously seasonal.

Zooming out, while this aligns with the monochrome leanings of recent Orange Label drops, each arrived with a white midsole and typically a gum sole. Perhaps this all-over layout portends additional “Triple” shaded pairs down the road, but only time will tell.

The Nike SB Dunk Pro “Anthracite” is beginning to hit skate shops now for $115, so check your locals if you’re aiming to lace these up for October 31st. Retail skate shops are your only source for this pair; no SNKRS nor Nike.com release will be coming down the pike.
