R.I.P. DJ AM (1973-2009)
We are sad to report that news just broke that DJ AM, one of the world’s most noted celebrity sneakerheads, was found dead this morning in his Lafayette Street apartment in New York City. The New York Post reports that prescription drug bottles were found at the scene, but details on how exactly he died are still unconfirmed. DJ AM, whose government name is Adam Goldstein, miraculously survived a horrific plane crash last September only to still have his life cut way too short. DJ AM was just seen on Sneaker News this week, throwing out the first pitch at last Sunday’s New York Mets game in a pair of Haze Dunk Highs. On another sneaker related front, it was also recently reported that he was working on a collaboration sneaker with Nike. The deepest sympathy and condolences of Sneaker News and the entire sneaker community go out to DJ AM and his family and friends. Rest in peace.
