We are sad to report that news just broke that DJ AM, one of the world’s most noted celebrity sneakerheads, was found dead this morning in his Lafayette Street apartment in New York City. The New York Post reports that prescription drug bottles were found at the scene, but details on how exactly he died are still unconfirmed. DJ AM, whose government name is Adam Goldstein, miraculously survived a horrific plane crash last September only to still have his life cut way too short. DJ AM was just seen on Sneaker News this week, throwing out the first pitch at last Sunday’s New York Mets game in a pair of Haze Dunk Highs. On another sneaker related front, it was also recently reported that he was working on a collaboration sneaker with Nike. RIP. hope they auction off his sneaker collection on ebay for charity or something. possibly drug prevention? might be a good idea (if it was infact drugs, people/media jump to conclusions way too fast)

R.I.P AM- Adam Goldstein. A sneakerhead before it become cool for there to be “celebrity sneakerheads”, way before most rappers and actors were on the game, homey was on niketalk posting just like the rest of us.Sucks to hear it coulda been the crackpipe that did him in, but you never know what’s behind those closed doors. R.I.P AM. let’s hope another one like you comes along, loving the game but doing it away from the spotlight, others need to take notice!
