The New Balance CM1500 has been a popular choice when it comes to collaborations between New Balance and <Insert Your Euro Sneakershop Here>. The multi-layered design of the CM1500 (and most other NBs) make it quite easy to adorn with a plethora of colors. But check out this collaboration with Japan-based Beams and the Boston-based sneaker company; the Beams x New Balance CM1500 keeps it OG with the use of grey tones – similar to the trademark colourway of the New Balance 998 that was once considered reserved for geriatrics or those with orthopedic needs. As with most overseas New Balance collabs, these look to be tough to acquire in the states, so grab them directly from Beams.

Yawn. A classic example of the late 80s and early 90s where other companies freaked out at Nike’s new product and started ripping it off wholesale. Compare this shoe to an Air Max 1 and you will find there are an incredible number of similarities. The biggest difference is a more conservative, beefy looking heel counter.
I really don’t understand why anyone goes for this kind of stuff rather than the real deal. NB might be fine to run in and have some unique aesthetic features but the designs are often clumsy at best and wholesale ripoffs at worst.

Old man’s shoes.

Right. I think Steve Job’s wears all grey New Balance runners during most of his Apple keynote addresses.
Still, I don’t mind all grey shoes when done right. I like the color of these although some of that orange from the outsole would be great as highlights on the upper.

Actually, the heel counter is not beefier than the AM1, just uglier.
