The original Nike Sky Force debuted in 1984 and served as a predecessor to a number of well known basketball-turned lifestyle kicks of today such as the Nike Dunk and Nike Terminator. In 1988, the Nike Sky Force returned in a Low and High version, featuring leather uppers and a re-designed construction with a toebox similar to the Nike Court Force of 1987. Arriving in Spring 2011 is the Nike Sky Force Retro with a vintage pre-yellowed treatment on the midsole and distressed leather material. Everything about this shoe screams ’80’s’, like the flat-footed traction, gaudy branding on the tongue, and as the ribbed corduroy-like ankle liner that was also used in later Nike Basketball releases at the turn of the decade.
