Soon after being drafted by the Denver Nuggets as the third overall pick in the monstrous 2003 NBA Draft, Carmelo Anthony signed with Jordan Brand and was instantly given the title of ‘second-coming’ as he was given his his own signature line of shoes as well as a few Air Jordan ‘halfsies’ models like the Jordan Melo 1.5 and the 5.5. Undoubtedly the best thing to result from the Melo/Jordan partnership was the collection of Player Exclusives as well as released colorways of Nuggets-themed Air Jordans. Here’s a look at an Air Jordan XII Player Exclusive that was slated for the Holiday 2009  debut; featuring a white mudguard and a University Blue leather ‘Rising Sun‘ upper with a gold trim and branding, these Air Jordan XII PEs strongly resemble the pair that was included in the Air Jordan Pantone 284 Laser Collection – minus the Laser, white mudguard, and the use of nubuck. Throughout the ’09-’10 NBA Season Sneaker News kept you on top of all the Air Jordan XII PEs for Ray Allen, Joe Johnson, and other Team Jordan representatives, but at this point it appears that Carmelo never wore these during a regular season game.
