Over the past decade, Nike has become synonymous with action sports thanks to the huge success of the SB sublabel and the 6.0 set in its wake. We’ve seen Nike riders on everything from skateboards to BMX bikes and surfboards, but never before has the Swoosh reached across Nike, Inc. lines to incorporate the lifestyle clothing brand Hurley on a project. The Hurley x Nike Air Max 90 ‘Phantom 4D’ is a stunning start, their radically reimagined uppers incorporating Flywire reinforcements along the lines drawn by James Marshall aka Dalek. They look just like his Phantom 4D boardshorts currently worn by two-time defending US Open champion Brett Simpson and are limited to 500 pairs in conjunction with the opening of Salvation Malibu. They’ll hit that store and several others next week so click through for more angles and stick with Sneaker News for the list of retailers and exact release date on Dalek’s Hurley x Nike Air Max 90s.
