Just last night, Sneaker News showed you Kobe Bryant wearing his new Nike Zoom Kobe VII during a trip out to the Nike Campus. Turns out, he wasn’t just wearing the Nike Zoom Kobe VII, but the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Supreme, one of three different Kobe VII renditions to become available during this cycle. The Supreme designation ($180) is for the version that utilizes the removable ankle lock-down bootie, as seen on the ‘Concord’ and Black/White-Del Sol colorway that we already showed you. A ‘regular’ version without the ankle sleeve will become available in February 2012 with a price-tag of$140, and the $200 Elite, likely a ‘Playoff’ shoe, in mid-May. The first Nike Zoom Kobe VII to become available will in fact be the Black/White-Del Sol Supreme, hitting stores this December 23rd. What are your thoughts on the ‘Supreme’? I'm shocked these are at a starting point of $180. Is the ankle strap that great that warrants a huge increase in price? If he wanted ankle support then go back to a midtop sneaker. That would still be about $140 price point! No way am I supporting these huge increase in signature sneaker prices. Lockout, recession, and inflation is enough reason for me to sneaker hunt at outlets, I use kicks to play in and $180 is a big hell no.

Concept is cool but it looks sloppy. Even when Kobe was wearing it they looked bad on his foot. The design looks like it should have came out 3 years ago.
