Nike LeBron 9 ‘Freegums Inside-Out’ Customs By Gourmet Kickz
February 14th, 2012 by John K. | 33 comments

As a gesture of ‘Happy Birthday’ to LeBron James, Nike Basketball hooked up with Miami-based artist Freegums for a slick rendition of the Nike LeBron 9. Donning a basic White/Black/Red colorway and covered with an artwork derived from Freegums’ interpretation of LeBron James and the game of basketball, the Freegums x Nike LeBron 9 became one of the hits of 2011 and continues to be a popular choice today. Sneaker custom guru Gourmet Kickz, who brought you some of the more texture-centric customs like the ‘Copperhead Snakeskin’ Foamposite One, recently completed an ‘Inside-Out’ version of the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Freegums’, transcribing the detailed artwork onto the large weave panel on the upper. Adding to the high-energy appeal is the colorful speckling on the midsole. Do you like these better than the original? Check out the gallery below and let us know what you think.

Way to fuck up a perfectly good shoe.
this is better
These joints go super hard!....like someone said earlier....If these were the "actual" Freegums that released I definitely would've copped
http://af1king.com/2012/02/14/actual-images-of-th... cop a pair if got the funds -_- love the shoe but dammm
Nice to look at....but I couldn't sport these.
super sick, this guys website is crazy sick! I want a pair soooooo bad!
Wow!!!!
You guys are dumb, you don't even understand how hard this guy probably had to work for theses to look the way they look. And the speckles added were a great touch # water tower swagg gang # findlay prep
Very nice. Except the speckles and the red laces. Other than that, ill.
This is the best custom this guy has ever made. Way better than those wack snakeskin Foamposites
Fresh but too much speckle!
They would look even better if they would have carried the graphic onto the flywire as well. Dope shoe though
I came into the sneaker game as a willing athletic participant, way back in the day!i wore Adidas Top Tens; Nike Franchises; New Balance 1500's; John Wooden Bata's. I am A SERIOUS BALLER! Basketball is a RELIGION! Today, all I see is people spending $'s for ANYTHING! I broke my ankle in '74 in a pair of Nike Bruin Lowtops playing basketball, and I swore that I would NEVER buy another NIKE product in my life! Maybe it wasn't the shoes! 36 years later, I am blogging about sneakers on this site! I HAVE WORE NIKE RELIGIOUSLY FOR FOR THAN 30 YEARS! Their shoes used to be "Engineered to the Exact Specification of Professional Athletes! EVERY PAIR OF JORDANS THAT I OWN; LEBRONS AND KOBE'S HAVE BEEN PLAYED IN! IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO CHALLENGE THE PURCHASING DECISION! MY CHALLENGE TO THE SNEAKER HEADS; PLAY; SKATE; RUN; STEAL CARS or do SOMETHING to VALIDATE the cost of the purchase! RETRO'S should cost the same as the original release price; it doesn't cost more to sell something that has allready been sold! This is how I feel! Peace!
You take your meds today?
Da fuck does ur long winded ass statement have to do wit these custom lebrons.... and it doesnt matter wat they cost, people dat have da money will cop wat they want. Are we all pissed & upset dat Nike, JB, Adidas & others have up da price on all they products, hell yea. But da reality is, if we have da doe, we will cop. Simple as dat
Big Infinite be going in on people having me rollin lol
the amount of detail is awesome, the speckles actually play well with the print. I agree, the original Freegums were a bit timid, with the print on just the liner, these go much harder.
these better than the original. BY FAR
Yea they are... i would get 2 pair
3 x cop for me!!!
see now this would be worth buying
take note petrie if the freegum wouldve went down like this then they wouldve sold out 1st day....
Not taking away from the original "Freegums", but if this one had released, I would have actually bought them.
This is what they should have looked like. I'm still not sure on the red though. Way nicer than the current freegums.
not bad.
Sick details!
Definitely adds something to the shoe...I'm 50/50 tho
That's how the freegums should have looked
over kill with the speckle
yeah a good job in all but it was overkill
lol I actually agree, I went a little heavy on the speckle, next go round a little lighter on that detail. lol
Yeah, with all the details on the side panel he shouldnt added the speckles because its already busy but one the best customs i seen in a while.
Now this is a CUSTOM, crazy detail
