This holiday season, sneakerheads will get to re-live one of the most interesting time periods of Michael Jordan’s career – his first retirement. The world of sports was completely shellshocked when Jordan made the announcement to step away from the game after winning his third straight title, but Nike and the Jumpman managed to spin the story into an entertaining story arc by introducing the fictional Johnny Kilroy, who was believed to be Michael Jordan in disguise. This October, Jordan Brand will “personify” Kilroy with the Retro colorway of the Air Jordan IX in a Black/Metallic Platinum-Gym Red colorway. what's crazy is if this CW is announced as a QS, everyone will say must cop. i need to see a better, in-focus picture of the metallic platinum upper and how it works together with the midsole paint color, but it doesn't look like a bad IX.
They could've done WAAYY better to represent my man Johnny Kilroy....easy pass *and I dnt care how many thumbs down yall give me, its my opinion...they're wack, stop the hype.
I really like this colorway, but seeing them in person will determine if they are as clean as they look here.
I was really hopeing that they were gonna blow this sneaker out the water, and really kill it. Because the Johnny kilroy story is on of the best Jordan storys or commercials that were made imo. but looks like they kinda failed with the sneaker. All I can hope for now is a dope box, card, or hangtag...lol
it's just the picture, look at the ankle zone you can see a difference in color I wouldn't get my hopes up

looks like the raptors might actually be black instead of charcoal. nice!!!! people passing on the kilroys will be sick in a year or two. i definitely will not be making that mistake.
Want these just for the memories of those commercials. Those were the days, man... When Jordan actually had to do marketing to get sales. Now JB pride themselves on spending 0 dollars on marketing retros (true story), because all you dumba s s e s spend your whole months pay on every drop.

He is the greatest basketball player to ever live! yeeeep, Michael Jordan used the alias johnny kilroy to check into hotels etc to maintain a low profile when in public and used that name. Its also a piece of Nike's genius marketing brain of michael jordan disguised as a d-league basketball player
