Before ‘Linsanity’, there was another Asian-American star athlete that grasped the world’s attention, when tennis pro Michael Chang burst into the scene by winning a Grand Slam singles title at the age of 17. He cemented his status as one of the sport’s greatest of all-time by being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008, but who knew that his original kicks, the Reebok Court Victory Pump, would have a unique effect on the sneaker game nearly two decades later? We’ll remind you that in 2010, Michael Chang’s Court Victory Pump did in fact re-release, and 2012 seems like the best year ever for Reeboks to make a comeback, but the whole ‘Tennisball’ effect was arguably done best on the Court Victory Pump as it featured the fuzzy tennis-ball material on the tongue Pump.
