CNCPTS was responsible for the lone New Balance inclusion in the Sneaker News Top 30 2011. By the looks of the upcoming New Balance SEAL 999 collaboration, it appears that the New England-based boutique will be a repeat offender. Concepts brings back the 999 as the center of the SEAL Capsule, inspired by the high-performance OTB Abyss II Boot and designing it with the active and able-bodied individuals in mind; the sneaker is built by a variety of tough-as-nails materials like with stain-resistant micro-fiber suede, ballistic mesh, ultra-breathable nylon panels, and a  gussetted tongue, and features a plethora of Sea/Air/Land details like the morse code encryption on the tongue, the rubberized N-logo on the medial sidewall, and a distinct topographic  interior lining. Alongside the New Balance 999 is the Arc’teryx Squamish jacket modeled similarly to the shoes. The Concepts x New Balance SEAL 999 will release this Saturday, August 4th, exclusively at CNCPTS (in-store only but look for some other premium NB spots to get pairs later on), and will retail at $150 (the jacket is priced at $200). A first detailed look at the complete capsule is right ahead, so flip through the official gallery and let us know if this is 2012′s front-running New Balance release.

I don't know what to go for.. The Fire Reds or these! Ahhh!

They come out with nice colorways(CNCPTS), but they just use an ugly model. Have to pass on this like i did the Kennedy's. Very 'asian made' is this model... all that cheap plastic chunky sole work. eww.

All though i don't really like the Durant 4 Weatherman sock liner rip offs.

sooooo dope, 150's a little steep for NB's though.

@donadamsky I'd love to be able to buy local NB for $150! I have over 40 pair of NB here in Australia, and they dont even retail for less than $200. The Kennedy's sold here for $230. I buy my NB from US/UK and save AT LEAST $100 ... even after shipping costs. You guys dont know how lucky you got it. All though i appreciate you all are going through an economic downturn with lack of jobs and the country losing money and what not, so that makes it hard i guess. But still. So cheap over there!

@svks But these wont be as hyped and therefore as "re-sellable" as any RF releases, as (if they are the same as the Kennedy's and get a wideish-release), they wont be "limited" like his collaborations... and the kids these days only seem to like sneakers if they are limited. For example, Linsanity and the Knicks. Jeremy Lin is worth bazillions due to marketing, as his Jersey was the no.2 seller this year(and still only played 15 games from Feb onwards), as opposed to his performance. Which is why Houston want him because of their Yao Ming asian fan base all ready grouped there. I.e Style over Substance. I.e RF = Limited = Hype = STYLE... over CNCPTS = Accessible release = Thought out colorway = SUBSTANCE.
