During our interview with Nike Action Sports athlete Paul Rodriguez, he mentioned the immediate impact in comfort and cushion with the use of Nike Lunar technology on his signature skate shoes. Since then, the P-Rod pro-model has utilized the lightweight cushion as the primary source of support, but it’s this shoe, the Nike Lunar Rod, that takes P-Rod x Lunar to the next level. Using the double-layered LunarLon foundation seen on the LunarGlide+ 4, the Lunar Rod combines the comfort of running with the durability of a skate shoe, and this first look at what appears to be a collaborative design with Primitive LA (owned by P-Rod) reveals the trendy safari print on the heel and Huarache-esque heel-clip in a OG Safari-like colorway. No word on a solid release date, but we do know that the Lunar Rod in general is slated for a release beginning this October, so check out another shot of this unique release and we’ll keep you updated.
See this is why the p-rod line lost some followers. They stop getting creative with the shoe as far as colorways and textiles. If this would have been done on the skate version it would have been an instant winner, but for some reason Nike listened to the kidz who didn't even buy the P-rod in the first place and dumbed it down. From what I can see I really like this colorway, but I'm not crazy about running shoes so I may pass even though I'm a huge supporter of the PR line. Nike take it from me spice up the P's the same why that you do the Lebrons and Jordan's and I'll bet you'll see an increase in demand for Paul's kicks......
This is seriously a great shoe idea and colorway from nike. I've seen the nike sb hyperstrike runners and I've wanted to cop them so bad so hopefully i can get my hands on em.
