Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle IX 2012

Finnigan Mooney (10) was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He’s toughed out more than 13 heart surgeries during his life, but his positive attitude and infectious sense of humor have remained unscathed. In addition to making new friends, he loves playing basketball, jumping on his trampoline, and perfecting his killer golf game. Finnigan’s design is representative of his sunny personality and smile, with an in-your-face yellow upper emblazoned with “THUMP THUMP” to pay homage to his unstoppable heart. The Nike swoosh is affixed with medical stitches to symbolize the stitches from his surgeries. His actual thumbprint appears on the outsole of the shoe—a nod to how Finnigan would always give his parents a thumbs-up when he came out of surgery. And paying tribute to his Irish heritage, Finnigan also included a shamrock on the tongue.

This is something that deserves applause from all in the sneaker community alot of you come off as spoiled brats with no rules or regulations. Rule #1 you dont critique kid designed shoes, whats your deal unpopular or something?
The 9s are wack, but I'm really diggin Grant Olsen's Nike Frees..
Those IX's are sick. The clear outsole looks good on that model. The AF1's are pretty ill too.
My bday is 9/13 also lol. It would make a lot more sense for the entire DB collection to be a GR if the money is going to charity. That's just Nike's way of thinking I guess
I think the girl how did the free run 2 should have done the IXs! Her design was nice
9s just steal the show.
I had no idea Nike did this its pretty cool
I respect the children's imagination for creating their own shoes, but I just hope Nike/Jordan Brand increases their f*****' shoe supply! So I can try copping 'em, cuz then I'll see 'em on eBay SMFH! And unfortunately, Nike/Jordan Brand will never make it happen.
This is an amazing project but its sad to see re sellers sell the shoe for more than what's it's worth .... GR is needed NIKE!!
Great job on all of these. My fav's are the AF1's,the IX's, and the Free Run's
I wish nike would make these a GR every year.
are the dunks sbs?
@AmauryTybgGarcia they are dunk sbs
@JamesJohnMichaelDunphyJr <=== Most well informed person in the sneakerworld. I was always under the impression that all SB's were exclusive to skateshops. According to homeboy here, Nike has all of a sudden decided to change their policy. Clap. Clap. Clap.
That...is some damn good investigateringeded. I'm glad NSW decided to inform nobody and secretly add "SB" to this Doernbecher release, cause I ain't buying no dunks unless it says "SB" under the swoosh!
@superbillybob8 I worked on them with Finn, so that's how I know. Hope you buy a few pairs.
@AmauryTybgGarcia I hope so! I won't buy Dunks unless it has that little "SB" tag under the swoosh! I know you feel me on this daaaaaaaaaawg! #HYPEBEASTKREW4LYFE
@AmauryTybgGarcia I don't think so
9's,dunk's,and forces
Dunks & 9s . No Question .
I almost feel like Nike is exploiting these kids. AND Why so many red heads?
Would rock all of them except the pink ones.... 9s are fresh
free runs are dope 2
Those 9's are fresh. The AF1's aren't bad either.
Sick I am copping
