As great as Kobe Bryant already was when he left Lower Merion High School back in 1996, he wasn’t a starter when he landed in Los Angeles as a Laker. There was a better player in front of Bryant. Eventually Kobe took over as the teams lead guard, but not before Jones make his present felt in the association. The Temple University alum would eventually become a perennial all-star, getting the nod three times in his celebrated career.
