Bad Bunny‘s journey with the Gazelle is going on hiatus because he and adidas have their sights set on a performance runner for the next chapter of their collaborative enterprise.
Over this past weekend’s F1 festivities in Las Vegas, a first look at the upcoming Bad Bunny adidas adiZero SL 72 collaboration was revealed on none other than the world’s fastest man Noah Lyles. The defending champion of the 100m dash at the Olympic Games, Lyles-an adidas sponsored athlete-hit the strip donning the never-before-seen release ahead of the launch.
The adiZero SL 72 is, in simpler terms, a modern interpretation of the iconic SL 72 silhouette. It features elements of the old school trainer on the upper half with a contemporary adiZero outsole system on the bottom, with additional overlays on the toe-box and the heel to add recognizable element that speak to the broad eras of the performance platform.
Sneaker News brings you some additional insider info: this is one of three colorways of the Bad Bunny x adidas adiZero SL 72 collaboration, which is currently set to launch in mid-December. The other two have official color specs of Maroon/Chalk White/Semi Solar Red and Blue/Core White/Shock Yellow. The pair pictured just below is the Off White/Chalk White/Wonder White edition, which features blue accents on the “Para Bad Bunny” text on the upper, the stitching on the tongue, and additional branding on the upper and heel.
adidas is set to make an official announcement on this next collaboration soon; stay tuned for further updates.
