Yeezy Taught Them Well: Upcoming adidas Sneaker Resembles the Yeezy Boost

Adidas Tubular Yeezy Grey 2

Kanye West and adidas have not been tight-lipped about the origin of their partnership. The hip-hop icon was searching for the right platform to realize his vision on fashion and footwear, while the German-born brand was in need of elevation that would better connect with the American market. Kanye West and adidas makes plenty of sense and the incredible buzz surrounding the Yeezy Season collection as well as the release of the Yeezy 750 Boost are prime examples of just how great the partnership can be. It’s so great that adidas is seemingly borrowing some of Kanye’s design ethos in this upcoming Tubular release; the ridged midsole is a clear spin-off of the vertically ribbed soles found on Kanye’s first adidas sneaker, while the all-grey upper makes the resemblance that much stronger, despite the use of extra materials.

However, the Tubular silhouette was already a clear indication that the brand’s designers are steering the ship in the right direction and the sculpted sole was probably already in line for some modification, but this one’s leaning a bit too close to the adidas Yeezy, isn’t it? That said, we can confirm that this sneaker is not the next adidas x Kanye sneaker. but say tuned to Sneaker News for more on this interesting release and we’ll keep you updated.
