The Air Yeezy is a collaborative sneaker created by the team up of rapper/producer Kanye West and Nike. To date there are two separate versions of the Nike Air Yeezy, with the first releasing in 2009 and the Nike Air Yeezy 2 releasing in 2012. Each colorway has been met with wild anticipation, massive lineups, and eventual sellout success.

Missed out on the Air Yeezy 2? Maybe you should opt for this ‘game’-worn sample. This unreleased sample has been spotted on Kanye’s feet during live shows and is awfully similar to the ‘Grammy’ pair that Kanye wore during the annual award show. This particular sample features a hint of red on the outsole and a thicker canvas upper (the Grammy version used perforated leather and had no red on the outsole along with a solid black midsole). Just looking at these samples makes you wish that Nike released more colorways of the original Air Yeezy, but rest assured that the Air Yeezy 3 is already in the works! Did you really need to be reminded? Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer and Montalban have completed their Twitter RSVPs, Foot Locker House of Hoops accepted online entries for their own raffle, and sneaker shops worldwide are conducting their own Air Yeezy 2 releases by way of raffles and so forth. It’s clear that after February’s chaotic release-night events for the Galaxy Foams, Nike’s newly implemented release date procedures have worked out quite well as the peace has been kept. Of course, leaving all your hopes on pure chance might not sit well with those who have earned their coveted kicks through hardcore camping, but getting the Air Yeezy 2 is like winning the sneaker lottery anyway.
It’s been a long three-year wait for the sequel to the original Air Yeezy 2 surface, and considering all the media hype that came attached to the sneaker, will the Air Yeezy 2 have what it takes to be Sneaker News’ best sneaker of the year? Remember, the original Air Yeezy lost out to the Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ for the number 1 spot, but it all depends on what goes down for the rest of the year. With that said, we can now pass the Air Yeezy 2 chapter in the book of kicks for now, but should new colorways pop up (like that Kobe collaboration), we’ll keep you updated. There may still be some Air Yeezy 2s up for grabs and we still have Nikestore’s release to look forward to, so be sure to get familiar with the release procedure of your local store (listed against below), so let us know if you’ve secured your pair for tomorrow’s release!

You heard it right – the Nike Air Yeezy 2 is hitting Nikestore. The Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum joints were all spoken for within minutes (probably seconds) when 21 Mercer opened up its Twitter RSVP, but it’s clear now that Nikestore will in fact carry both colorways if you missed out on the Wolf Grey. Quick details: the time and date for the release has not been confirmed, and the only way to find out is by following the Nikestore Twitter account, where they will update all pertinent information. Again, the day and time will not be mentioned in advance. Looks like all hope isn’t lost, so stay tuned to Sneaker News and we’ll keep you on top of all Air Yeezy 2 release information until this Saturday’s official release.

Sneaker News already hit you with the most thorough list of Air Yeezy 2 release spots, but it just got a bit longer now that select Foot Locker House of Hoops locations will release the Air Yeezy 2 as well. No campouts, no release day mayhem (we still remember what happened during All-Star Weekend), but instead a simple online entry form (live now) with the lucky recipients being notified on Friday, June 8th. Winners will be able to purchase the shoes in-store ONLY on Saturday. We’ll list the four House of Hoops locations, but head to Foot Locker Unlocked for complete entry rules.

Air Yeezy II Store List last updated: 1:57pm, EST June 8th, 2012
If you’re hell-bent on getting the Nike Air Yeezy 2 this Saturday, you’d better be equipped with all the information necessary to maximize your odds at getting your own pair. 21 Mercer confirmed their release using the Twitter RSVP (the only spot to have both pairs in the States), but Japan’s Nike Harajuku has also confirmed a release of both as well. Below is a list of stores that will release the Nike Air Yeezy 2, so jot them down and we’ll keep updating this list as we get closer to D-Day. Remember, most, if not all locations, will be conducting some sort of raffle/wristband procedure, so if you see your local shop on this list, be sure to hit them up first-hand for full details.

Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer flagship location in New York just tweeted in confirmation of the Saturday, June 9th release of the ‘Pure Platinum’ and ‘Solar Red’ Air Yeezy 2s. The only way to get a pair is through the new Twitter RSVP that’ll pop up at a time TBD on Thursday, and it turns out that they’re not the only New York retailer ready to go on Saturday who’s doing a raffle-claim in advance of the big day. Ronnie Fieg’s Kith will offer raffles between Noon Thursday and 7pm Friday at the Manhattan location, where you’ll be able to put down your data to secure a pair at either that store or the Brooklyn location. There’s a strict 1-per customer limit in effect with this release, but aside from the pairs released, Kith is also giving away a pair at the end of the raffle Friday night, to be notified by social media and with a pickup in your chosen size on Saturday morning. US residents can enter on the Kith homepage; will you be entering multiple raffles or otherwise branching out to ensure you’ll get those hotly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy 2s on June 9th?
