The Asics Gel Lyte V “Cove” from Ronnie Fieg isn’t the only self-referential style that’s coming up from the KITH boss. He’s also showed off this pair, which echoes the tonal light green makeup of his Asics Gel Lyte III “Mint Leaf” release of old. We can only assume that both the Asics Gel Lyte V “Mint” and “Cove” pairs are soon to come, but at this point we’ve only been treated to teasers – no official info. Take another look at this pair below and then tell us in the comments which of these collaboration Asics Gel Lyte V pairs you’re looking forward to more.

It’s pretty evident that the legacy of ASICS as a brand will be best remembered for their contributions to the running shoe category, but there was once a time when they were a well-respected name in the basketball world as well. In fact, that’s where the company got its start back in 1949 when founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, began manufacturing basketball sneakers out of his living room. Since then, the brand has branched out and excelled in a number of different sports and footwear categories, but basketball will always remain an important part of their history.

The latest Asics Gel Lyte III release is one of those recurring styles with which you might be familiar.  Last released in 2009, this black leather edition has been called ‘Black Ice’ for its interplay with silver accents (not because of a translucent sole as you might have guessed).  This is one of those classic ‘Raiders’ colorways which is to say it’s in a color range that makes them super wearable, and that’s true both in terms of the outfits you might wear with them as well as the shoe’s timeless quality.  Let us know how these compare to some of the other established Gel Lyte IIIs when you click in to get a better view before copping at shops like Feature.

When the Asics Gel Lyte III goes to high contrast, there are few peers from its era that can rival the impact.  This newest pair highlights just how many parts there are, with a high contrast palette showing off just about every individual piece the shoe is made of.  These are similar to some of the pairs that hit toward the end of the mid ’00s period remembered for its clashy palettes and specifically they are laid out similarly to a 2008 drop.  Let us know your opinion once you’ve seen more below, then cop a pair from shops like Feature.

You can bet that Asics will be one of the many sneaker brands chipping on on the World Cup tributes in 2014. Their sneakers of that sort hone in specifically on the host country of Brazil via some green/blue/yellow sneakers. Coming soon are the Asics Gel Lyte V and Asics Gel Epirus “Brazil” pairs, which not only wear that colorway but also have some starry detailing to make sure the theme is lost on no one. Take a better look at these two pairs after the break and then get them on pre-order from Hanon if you don’t want to wait for their May arrival in the states.

Asics Gel Lyte III – Off White – Bright Orange – Blue

The Asics Gel Lyte III is a sneaker that’s been prone to prints as of late. The Valentine’s Day version had that subtle debossing on the upper, and the camouflage/Aztec joints both pour some patterning into the lining. Getting away from all of that is this new shoe that sticks to a much more standard material set. That’s not to say that they don’t have pop though – just look at that bright orange lining if you need any evidence of that. Click through to see what this GLIII is all about and then scoop yours up from Sneaker Politics today.

You should never expect the Asics GT-II to be quite as prolific in the retro catalog as the likes of the staple silhouette that is the Asics Gel Lyte III. But, it just might be the second most issue behind the GLIII as far as retro models from the brand are concerned. Popping up just before the month closes out is this new colorway that flips between navy and purple for its base and goes the particularly wide route of slipping a pop color underneath the side stripes. Get extra images below and remember you can scoop these up now from Feature LV.
