The Fila Grant Hill II continues to get dressed up in that classic New York combination of orange and blue. This latest version, another that unfortunately isn’t slated for a retail release, is one cooked up as a gift for DJ Clark Kent. The Knicks-loving sneaker extraordinaire has of course had his hands in plenty of sneaker designs for various brands of the years, but these in particular were a gift from a brand and not a collaboration (confirmed by Clark himself). It’s been a while since we’ve seen LeBron James break out a new Nike LeBron X Elite colorway, but that’s just what happens when you sweep a series and your next opponent goes the full seven. The wait ends tonight when King James’ Miami Heat take on the Chicago Bulls, but first let’s focus on the first LeBron 10 Elite colorway LBJ himself wore about a month ago. The ‘Sport Turquoise’ LeBron X Elites made quite an impression when James wore them against the Celtics in April, and a new set of images suggests this explosive style might be the most popular LeBron Elite colorway to hit retail upon its May 25th release date. Kevin Durant proved once again on Sunday why he’s considered one of the very best players in the NBA. The young scoring machine is still shy of his twenty-fifth birthday, so given his work ethic and history of good health, we’ll be enjoying number 35′s prodigious talents for many years to come. One of the best parts will be following the development of his Nike Basketball signature series, the next chapter of which is our focus here today. The Nike KD 6 keeps with the Durant line’s sleek lines and this New Orleans Hornets-ish colorup gives all of its distinctive elements a platform to shine. The NBA Playoffs finally moved onto the 2nd round of play, but that didn’t mean some nail-biters were presented to us in the closing games of the first round. The Bulls and Nets went to 7 games, while the Knicks almost squandered a large lead before regrouping and putting away the Celtics to move onto the second round. In the second round, Kevin Durant willed the Thunder to a victory over the Grizzlies, while the Pacers kept the Knicks in check by taking Game 1 of the their match-up in the second round. Do the sorts of hybrid upgrades applied to the Nike Air Max Uptempo Fuse 360 put the sneaker back into the discussion as a viable choice for hooping? The OGs are of course a bit dated at this point, but perhaps the introduction of a 360 Air unit on the bottom and some Fuse treatment up top can put them close the to perimeter of that performance zone. It came on strong at last November’s basketball season tipoff with ‘Armed Forces Classic’ PEs and a bunch of Rajon Rondo colorways, but the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012 hasn’t been as prominent as either of its predecessors. Factors including Rondo’s injuries and new models like the Hyperaggressor explain the shift, but that doesn’t mean the Hyperfuse 2012 Low isn’t still churning out new styles during the NBA Postseason. This colorway finds itself somewhere between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers with a tonal blue upper accented by Bright Citrus.
