ANTA KAI 1
The ANTA KAI 1 is Kyrie Irving’s first basketball signature shoe with the Chinese basketball brand ANTA. Its debut release came in March 2024 with the “Artist On Court” colorway. Following the severance of the relationship between Mavericks star Kyrie Irving and Nike, the future of the immensely popular line of Kyrie Irving shoes was entirely in doubt. Enter Chinese sneaker brand ANTA, who signed the Dallas guard to a long-term deal towards the middle of the following year.
2024, at long last, brought the fruits of their relationship to the public. That initial “Artist On Court” was an instant sell-out, a feat matched by nearly every follow-up edition since. Some of the most recent colorways to release include the:
– “Yin” & Yang”
– “Chief Hela”
– “Kaleidoscope”
– “Taiji”
– “College” / “11 Days”
– “Love”
On top of the continuing success of Kyrie’s earnest signature model, the Chinese brand has also issued two offshoots. First came the performance-minded ANTA KAI 1 Speed, debuted during the NBA Finals and said to be Kyrie’s father Drederick’s signature shoe. It has seen its own host of colorways hit the market, including via stateside retail partners.
Then came the lifestyle ANTA KAI Hélà Style. Circulating on social media for months before its official unveiling on Irving’s feet, the model debuted in December 2024 in the United States as part of a Holiday-themed release spree on the ANTA site.
After debuting a prototype build of the ANTA KAI 2 in regular season action in December, Kyrie Irving and the ANTA team announced that the model’s first look would be February 28th’s “Artist On Court” colorway. Though traditionally this would mean the ANTA KAI 1 being sidelined, the breakout success of #11’s shoe leaves plenty of unconventional options on the table.
