You’ve already seen the Nike Barkley Posite Max “Sixers” that’s around the corner. What you probably haven’t seen yet is this version which sports the colors of another Barkley squad with its Suns look, and slaps on an almost scaly, reptilian texture. Could that be a “Godzilla” tribute referencing Charles Barkley’s appearance alongside that mythical beast in the 90s? Stay tuned for the answer on that and let us know your thoughts on the Nike Barkley Posite Max “Suns” in the comments below.

After the Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament wrapped up the First Round of voting last night, we’d like to present to you the Sweet 16 that our readers selected to move on in battle. All #1 Seeds still remain, but there are several upsets that we must take note of (remember fellas, these are your votes talking!). The largest upset in terms of seeding came from the Southwest bracket, as the 2012 Pink Foamposite took down the most limited Air Foamposite One to hit retail in the Dark Army (under 100 pairs released), but other eye-catching results include the Bright Crimson Pro beating out the original Voltage in the East bracket and the Silver Pro outgunning the Carolina in the Southwest. If you want a full breakdown of the results, check out the voting percentages for each match-up below.

As expected, the sneaker sightings have been incredible (remember our mid-season recap several weeks ago), with players taking out their most prized basketball shoes for the highly publicized games. Check out some of the best from the first two rounds below and stay tuned for another recap as the Tournament winds down!

Charles Barkley is the latest non-Penny athlete to see his sneakers equipped with the Nike Foamposite technology. Of course calling them his sneakers is a little bit of a stretch, as the Round Mound of Rebound definitely won’t be lacing up in this pair to play any time soon. Still, they do have his name attached along with “CB” logo hits and the “Not a role model” script along the bottom. This new pair that’s popped up uses pure platinum and cyber blue, with the blue ending up particularly striking thanks to the speckle treatment. See more after the jump and wait with us for up to date release info on this Nike Barkely Posite Max.

The Nike Barkley Posite Max was a sellout success at its first release, that special “Area 72″ version. But the true test of a sneaker comes in the more standard offerings, when the community determines whether or not the model is still worth it without the fancy backstory attached. The Nike Barkley Posite Max will undergo that test this weekend with the arrival of the black/black pair, one that’s picked up the colloquial “Eggplant” nickname. See the Nike Barkely Posite Max “Eggplant” after the jump and if you’re planning to purchase you might as well see what’s available now from heatsalesman on eBay.
