New Balance 1906L
The New Balance 1906L, or more simplistically, the New Balance loafer, is a reimagined silhouette designed by Charlotte Lee and launched by the brand in 2024. Prompted by the blurred lines between performance wear and high fashion, as seen at Fashion Week runways throughout the 2020s, New Balance took their dominant 1906R model and used it as a jumping off point to enter that space. While the upper is reshaped to resemble a penny loafer, New Balance left the sole unit entirely untouched, allowing for a top/bottom split of those two opposing aesthetics. As we enter 2025, we’re expecting a heavy dose of new colorways for the New Balance 1906L, something we’ve already got a taste of with colorful renditions and a fresh suede build of the shoe.
