Matt Varga Even if you have a hybrid design that you’re more partial to, you can’t deny the influence of the New Balance 1906L, easily one of the more prolific silhouettes in the loafer-meets-sneaker space. Across what’s now more than a dozen colorway of the crossover kicks, we’ve been able to informedly set expectations for what we’ll get from the model; typically relying on in flooded looks or ones that rely on similar multicolor arrangements to its parent 1906R.
By splitting the difference between the two, the New Balance 1906L “Black/Angora” breaks new ground, remaining digestible with a heavy dose of black through almost all of the real estate here. The topmost patch of mesh is where the snowy white enters the mix, offering up a fresh blocking scheme that breaks from the contrast–soled pairs that serve as its closest comparison point.
Expect the New Balance 1906L “Black/Angora” to hit NewBalance.com in the coming weeks — partnering retails have already started posting stock. Be ready for a $160 retail price upon arrival.
