NIKE SB DUNK LOW The Nike SB Dunk Low is the first sneaker on the Nike Skateboarding line. It was originally a basketball sneaker that was converted into a skate-shoe with a thickened tongue and Zoom Air cushioning. The Nike SB Dunk Low debuted in 2002.

Move over, Kanye/Kim, Jay-Z/Beyonce, and Wiz/Amber, because SNL funnyman Jason Sudeikis and rising big-screen star Olivia Wilde are moving up fast in the Celebrity Sneakerhead Couple power rankings! The couple was spotted shooting some hoops in Tribeca wearing some notable Nikes, and it’s clear that Olivia had the upper hand in this sneaker pairing as she wore the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Hemp’ of 2004 (releasing on the famed 4/20 mark, which was also the last release of the ‘Hemp’ Pack). Jason kept it simpler by wearing the Navy/Red colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Omega Pack’ – a 2010 release. More on this surprising sneakerhead couple below, so stay tuned for more updates on what ‘Wildeikis’ will wear next! Photos: justjared

When you first take a look at this new Nike SB Dunk Low do any particular colorways from the SB heritage come to mind? The community seems a bit split on that, with some calling to the similar blocking to the ‘J-Pack’ Dunks of old and others seeing more in common with the ‘Tiffany’ strictly in terms of colors used. Either way, one thing that we should be able to come to a consensus on is that they are quite the summer sneaker, a potent pair thanks to the simple two-tone look on top that relies on an accenting shade from the Nike SB range that is just starting to make moves. Actress Olivia Wilde graced the these pages just last week in the celebrity column, showing up in an Air Jordan selection we suspected was aided by her significant other, SNL member and bonafide sneakerhead Jason Sudeikis. Wilde is here again, but this time around her sneakers are rather tame, with Sudeikis being the focus in his choice from out of the Nike SB vault in the form of Cascade pair of ‘Hemp’ Nike SB Dunk Lows – part of the original SB Dunk ’4/20′ release that appeared in 2004. Hit the jump for some more shots of Sudeikis strolling around in these Nike SB classics and let us know what else you think he has in the stash in the comments below. Photos: JJ

While Nike SB is backing down a bit on the 4/20 releases, they clearly have no qualms about doing tie-in colorways paying tribute to specific varieties of a different, and wholly legal mind altering substance. The latest pair to add to that hallowed tradition aims for a bit of a classier beverage than those included in last month’s ‘Beer Bottle’ pack, evoking the crushed velvet bag of-age folks prone to Crown Royal should be familiar with. Along with the purple suede upper the sneaker is punched up a bit with gold touches on the Swoosh and other accents to make the ‘royal’ aspect that much more evident. Stay with us after the jump for the full shots and be on the lookout for the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Crown Royal’ at accounts like Premier now.

We don’t expect a Party Down collabo any time soon (though a third season would be nice), so get ready for what should be the ultimate finale for this saga surrounding a former premium cable comedy hit. The Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Nontourage’ takes its name and appearance from the ‘Lights Out’ edition created for the cast and crew of HBO’s ‘Entourage’ in celebration of the show’s final season, but unlike the friends & family edition, these lack any tongue or insole branding to reflect a Time Warner collabo. The blacked-out Elephant print atop a gum sole is still intact, though, and that pretty well ensures these will quickly sell out (already gone from Encino, CA’s Primitive) when they arrive as a Quickstrike ‘Below the Line’ release at other select Nike SB retailers. Check with your local SB spot for details on when these new arrivals will be hitting the shelves.

You already know that the Nike SB line is borrowing the heralded ‘Infrared’ Air Max 90 colorway for their SB x AM mashup, but just how long will they hold on to that sacred blocking to make use of? This preliminary shot of what’s on the way for Spring 2013 suggests it might be a while, with the Nike SB Dunk Low on the left maintaining a reasonable resemblance to that palette albeit with a bit less white from what we can see. Are you eagerly looking forward to this trio that should arrive in just under a year from now or are you still in the process or sorting through all of the Nike SB heat lined up for 2012? Todd Bratrud is a name that should ring bells to any Nike SB collector worth a salt lick, being the brains behind a handful of the more sought after collabo Dunks in recent memory. He’s been instrumental in Nike SB’s tongue in cheek ’4/20′ drops over the past couple of years, as well as other bangers like the scrapped Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Freddy Krueger’. Bratrud recently touched down in Milan for a show celebrating his work, with the range of his Nike team ups on hand along with a selection of his extra-Swoosh work. With the already popular online community Reddit doubling in growth last year, many of the ‘Advice Animals’ memes have become stale to the point of retirement (or in several hilarious occasions, complete misuse). One of the few with a still-vital energy about it is ‘Bad Luck Brian’, a self-evidently unfortunate guy who on one occasion found the courage to make eye contact with a lady, only to find that it was Medusa. Something like the opposite is more likely to happen as you smile upon first seeing this new Nike SB Dunk Low Premium, a Matte Silver tumble whose stony appearance and serpant-suggesting Classic Green accents have led to this one getting tagged with that nickname from Greek mythology. Check them out in greater detail below, let us know which classic stories you’d like to see told in sneaker themes like these and grab your ‘Medusa’ Dunk Low SB Premiums from CNCPTS.
