Vans has released a variety of intricately patterned kicks over the past few years based upon traditional cultural designs, ranging from various Mexican blanket-style sneakers to Taka Hayashi’s Native American leanings. This latest duo comes from much further north and a whole ocean to the east, though the similarities might have you asking your teachers what exactly Christopher Columbus discovered. The Vans Nordic Pack certainly bears a resemblance to those aforementioned designs, perhaps a result of Leif Ericson and his ilk having left a mark on North America centuries before Columbus’ trio of journeys.
