The crepe sole treatment is nothing new for Nike, with plenty of Air Max models donning the squishy material throughout the years. More recently the technique has been ported over to specific lifesytle models from the Nike Sportswear oeuvre, with the Nike Air Royal Mid taking it on last year. Pushing them even further from the sneaker realm is the upcoming Nike Air Royal Desert Boot, steering towards Clark’s immortal Desert Boots in its design. Interestingly enough the crepe sole of all aspects remains the most sneaker like, with a bit of an old school waffle tread patterned on the bottoms.
