Take a walk through the University of Oregon campus and it won’t take you long to notice that the school is, from top to bottom, Nike’d out. With the brand’s earliest roots sprouting from the UofO Athletics Program, all-things-Swoosh is to be expected, particularly with the footwear made for its student-athletes, staff members, marching band musicians, and anyone associated with the sports program. A special PE of the Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid was presented to a select few during a special event that occurred on April 30th, 2011, during which the University hosted a special ‘Support The Troops’ event, inviting the Oregon National Guard and Coast Guard to a day of fun festivities that included live music, interactive games, and an intra-squad scrimmage. This ‘Support The Troops’ PE serves an official precursor to the ‘Army’ and ‘Navy’ Trainer 1.3 Mids that dropped in late 2011, as it features a unique U of O tongue label that reads ‘Support Our Troops’ and special-edition insoles with inspirational words from U of O football coach Chip Kelly. If you’ve got a thing for collecting Ducks memorabilia, this is certainly one pick-up you don’t want to miss, so check out the extra details of this rare PE after the jump and head to the listing from nacottle1 on eBay.
