With the original Air Yeezy drop coming and going without any major issues (unless you count the extra cautious consumers who copped theirs in surgical masks to avoid the equally time capsule-worthy bird flu), the most drama-filled release date in Kanye West’s career was back in 2007 when the launch of his album Graduation competed head to head against 50 Cent’s third full-length. After much trash talk leading up to the September 11th showdown, Kanye crushed Curtis, Fiddy was forced to back down from his retirement guarantee and Mr. West has been the brightest star in every building he’s entered since.
The Nike Air Yeezy 2‘s release saga might go down as even more of a rollercoaster ride, this multi-delayed super-collabo now appearing in some of its most revealing images yet as the very photographer who posted them also tweets that Nike has ordered his stock returned. So while we get a supremely detailed look at the ‘Pure Platinum’ Yeezy 2, we’re left wondering when we’ll have a chance to inspect the hidden messages inside the velcro strap and beneath the insoles. It’s crazy to think Nike Sportswear would consider cancelling a release with this much demand, but we all remember what happened with the ‘Galaxy’ Air Foamposite One this February. Let us know what you think about this latest bump in the road to Air Yeezy 2 and stick with Sneaker News to find out if and when these will ever hit retail. Photos: mikeyman14
