2012 is proving to be one amazing year for sneaker re-issues as Nike has opened up the chapter covering 1995 to 1998, which some may claim is the best span of sneaker releases in Nike history. The Nike Air Max Pillar is rightfully included in that span as this ’98 original took Nike Trainers to an unforeseen level with its futuristic design and Tuned Air unit (Tuned Air displaced different Air Psi in the Unit to conform to the foot form), and with the confirmed release for July 24th, the ‘to-do’ list for Nike Trainer fans is piling up! Priced at a hefty $180 (perhaps the cost of rebuilding the original mold) is one hurdle to jump over, but for some, the price is likely a non-issue because the Pillars hold that holy ‘grail’ status to a select few. A first detailed look at the Air Max Pillar in the OG colorway is just ahead, so enjoy the show and stay tuned to Sneaker News for all sneaker news and updates! Photos: itsb
