A thirtieth anniversary, while a nice round number, doesn’t typically carry the significance of twenty-five, and definitely not fifty or a hundred. We’ve also seen this summer how a twentieth birthday can mean so much given the quadrennial Olympic implications, but still, neither the Air Max 1 or Safari, or any of the Dream Team releases can overshadow the absolutely spectacular 2012 enjoyed by the Nike Air Force 1. Notable collector DJ Clark Kent has over five hundred pairs of his own (including around fifty exclusive makeups), and has teamed up with Nike Sportswear on the next chapter of the AF1-XXX story, a new Facebook app dubbed 1Thology.
This Air Force 1 visual reference lets you tag pairs you own and want, the latter of which could end up bringing a rare design back as voted by other 1Thologists. A ‘Most 5 Wanted AF1s in History’ list keeps us up to date on the proceedings, but judging by the fact that the only non-’12 releases are last year’s Premium Denim drop and 2008’s ‘Air Max 95’ edition and DJCK’s own ‘112’ spinoff, we can expect some movement as more sneakerheads enter their lists. Create your own 1Thology and browse through the photos and stories for over a thousand different Air Force 1s sorted by date, style, color or materials, and check out some primer videos after the jump to get started.
