Sneaker packs and other nicknames offer a helpful way of remembering our favorite releases, but there are a select few instances when the nomenclature just adds to the confusion. Somewhere in the middle is a release like Vans California’s latest, a model whose name does indeed describe its construction, but was also used earlier this year on another style. And to add to the confusion the Vans California Chukka ‘Guate’ utilizes a different pattern altogether from June’s ‘Guate Stripe’ Authentic release, though both do indeed accurately reflect the look of traditional South American loomworks.
