adidas Mutombo – Black Patent Leather Sample

The adidas Mutombo already had one of the more unique aesthetics in the history of basketball sneakers thanks to its African shield in celebration of Dikembe’s roots.  That feature has been downplayed just a bit on this latest sample, but Three Stripes probably did that because combining it with the gloss of patent leather might be over the top.  But in this more muted rendition (only black and white), we find that this classic big man shoe may have found a new groove in its second retro run.  Click through to see more and let us know your opinion and stick with Sneaker News to see if a patent leather Mutombo ever hits retail.
