When Nike enlisted to make Michael Jordan’s second signature sneaker, they did so knowing that MJ wanted it to transcend basketball. In fact, he wanted a full on luxury sneaker inspired by Italian-crafted leather boots. And while the second Jordans might not have fully succeeded at the task, we’ve continuously looked to Jordan Brand and their retros with the idea that they’re in fact a luxury product – his second signature sneaker helped put that thought process in motion. This Quilted Air Jordan 2 takes things to the next step with a quilted leather, suede paneling, and leather lining as it will be releasing sometime in 2015 to help celebrate 30 years of His Airness flying to the basket in an Air Jordan model.
