Many of you are waiting for 2016 to come to its end, but in the world of sneakers, there was much to celebrate. adidas continued its meteoric uprising on the pillars of Boost and Primeknit, Nike fulfilled a decades-old dream of releasing the self-lacing shoes from Back To The Future II, sneaker boutiques were forced to take extra measures to make their collaborations stand out, and heralded shoes of the past were inserted into contemporary fashion with a mighty force. More sneakers released this year than any other, so whittling it down to the fifty best was no easy task.
