10 Nike PG 1 PEs We Want To See Paul George Wear In OKC This Coming Season

It’s official: Paul George is now the newest member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the franchise’s short lifespan, Thunder fans have learned to cope with transactional heartbreak quicker than any other team in the league. From James Harden to Kevin Durant, it’s been a tough ride for the Midwestern start-up but signing PG13 as a rental for one year was the latest unexpected move from front office guru Sam Presti yet. Nike Basketball made the Nike PG 1 available on NIKEiD at the perfect time to celebrate, adding Game Royal and Team Orange options to help usher in a new era. We sorted through some inspirations from the past and future and hopefully we’ll see some similar looks once the NBA regular season kicks off with PG in electric blue come late October. Head over to NIKEiD to customize your very own OKC-themed PG 1 today.

Nike PG 1 “Creamsicle”

KD’s impact is still felt in Oklahoma City even years after a young Thunder squad all laced up the KD 2 “Creamsicle” exclusive. The midfoot strap makes the PG 1 the perfect foil for the all orange Durant-inspired look. He should take advantage of the head-turning orange and blue colorways while he can – he might not be in OKC too long.

Nike PG 1 “Thunder Blue”

Not quite the Nike KD 2 “Scoring Title” but you can make this pair today on NIKEiD unlike the previous Creamsicle option. (Nike, get on that ASAP).

Nike PG 1 “Chaos”

Chaotic is the perfect word to describe this year’s NBA offseason. Gordon Hayward jumping back and forth for his free agency decision, Jimmy Butler’s unexpected trade on Draft Night, and of course, Paul George headlined the entire summer with his arrival in Oklahoma City. We took things back to the Nike Kobe 5 Chaos after seeing that iridescent snakeskin option with just the right amount of Volt. Hopefully the craziness continues into the regular season.

Nike PG 1 “Galaxy”

5 years later and Nike Basketball’s 2012 All-Star “Galaxy” Pack remains as legendary as ever. PG was still backing up the likes of Danny Granger back when the KD 4 “Galaxy” dropped, but you can recreate the magic on NIKEiD in the same way the Thunder are trying to recreate a deep playoff with PG13 in the starting lineup.

Nike PG 1 “Please Stay” Finals PE

The only way we see Paul George not headed to the Los Angeles Lakers is if the Thunder keep on surprising everyone right up to the NBA Finals. It’s a longshot with the Warriors, Rockets, and Spurs in their way, but we’d have to bet that Paul George and Russell Westbrook would want to keep things intact if they did just that. That Metallic Gold midfoot strap is one of our favorite customizable options right now.

Nike PG 1 “Nerf”

Who remembers the Nike KD 4 “Nerf” with the special edition Nerf basketball hoop package? It remains to be one of the awesome oddities from Nike Basketball’s most dominant stretch through the 2000s with a playful kids-themed twist. We’re sure PG loved basketball just as much growing up as KD. This is yet another colorway that originated with Durant that would translate perfectly onto the PG 1.

Nike PG 1 “Yeezy” Pure Platinum

As long as there is glow in the dark outsole options, snakeskin textiles, and Bright Crimson as a lining option, we’ll still be hitting up NIKEiD to try out the Yeezy theme. The PG 1 is no exception.

Nike PG 1 “Yeezy” Blink

See above.

Nike PG 1 “Old Alternates”

The Thunder may have some of the most inconsistent and boring jerseys in the league – their logo was fashioned together as quickly as possible after their unexpected move from Seattle to OKC after all. Then they went ahead and got rid of their alternate navy and white threads with vertical ‘Thunder’ letters that managed to stand out from the crowd. It was a mistake. This PG 1 is inspired by the now defunct alternates. Bring them back!

Nike PG 1 “Home”

Nike Pg 1 Okc Pes Nikeid 01 1 620x434

It still sounds weird saying it. Paul George is going to call Oklahoma City home for at least one season, and then the Thunder will go from there. If you’re an OKC fan, there’s no way that you’re not on NIKEiD right now trying to make your very own Thunder-themed version of Paul George’s first signature model.
