Kevin Garnett’s known for his fierce loyalty to his teammates, but when it comes to sneaker brands, he’s willing to go wherever the financial pastures are greener. He’s been officially signed to Nike, adidas, AND1, and ANTA over the years, producing some decent signature shoes along the way. SLAM reports that KG, now retired from the NBA, will return to AND1 as a global brand ambassador as the brand looks to regain relevancy in the basketball sneaker market. The “streetball” brand, most famous for its mixtape era and their highly coveted footwear that dropped along with, has limited presence in the NBA as its most notable athlete was Lance Stephenson, who has been wearing Air Jordans and Nikes throughout the season.
AND1 and Kevin Garnett will release a collection of footwear and apparel in the near future. It’s not clear if they plan on re-releasing the KG 1 and KG 2 signature shoes, which are among the brand’s most recognizable in their history.
