New Balance Continues Its X Series With The Colorful X-Racer

Tapping inspiration from the more obscure side of NB past, the New Balance X-Racer arrives as the second notch on the belt of the burgeoning X Series, sitting in clear distinction from the X-90 that started it all. Borrowing elements from the 90s and early 2000s, the pair boasts a design quite akin to the archival M1200, RC205, and M1000 though freshened up to fit right in line with the label’s newfound modernity. ADZORB sole units are, of course, added on to the retro-inluenced kit with materials swapping from textural mesh to smoothened nubuck; profiles right underneath the reflective “N” logo are just faintly translucent with its adjacent panelling adding contrast along each of the three colorways. Substantially more minimal than past offerings, the surrounding constructions are barren of tradition as overlays arrive cut to a mere fraction of the norm, leaving much of the base fabrication on ready display. Grab a detailed look at each of the forthcoming sets right below and find it hitting select retailers and newbalance.com on July 1st for a retail of $90 USD.
