With a mixture of the heel unit from Nike’s first-ever lifestyle Air Max silhouette and a soft-yet-durable React foam forefoot, the Nike Air Max 270 React offers an amazing amalgamation of two incredibly popular cushioning franchises, and it’s set to debut in a duo of “Bauhaus” colorways this July. The shoes draws their name from a storied 20th-century German art school that’s become world-renowned for its guiding principles — and is still highly influential in the world of design today — then interprets their famed ethos by adorning the upper with bold design lines and bright colors. Wavy white and black panels make up the majority of the upper’s base layer, while vivid yellow, hot red, cool turquoise and bold blue all provide accents. The insoles acknowledge Bauhaus even further with their flipped color palettes/geometric shapes. Down below, a sublime blue Air Max 270 cushioning unit and React midsole fuse together to ensure the comfort stacks up to the look. There’s a women’s pair too, one that interprets its theme with powder blue/red accents, a black Swoosh, and yellow detailing on the collar and Air Max unit.
