A sight for sore eyes considering the brand’s current trajectory, the New Balance CMT580 returns in a trio of new colorways and no trail modifications. Vibram soles, Cordura fabrics, and GORE-TEX waterproofing are all foregone for a small departure to the basics: bearing no outstanding touch-ups to its time-tested tooling, the pairs more so impress with colorway alone. Though bulky by comparison to the sleek 997 or 998, the silhouette arguably boasts the brand’s most definitive dad shoe charm with its soles pumped for comfort and luxe materials which leave little to be desired. Distinct with each new paint job, the first is undoubtedly the most vibrant despite its tanned overlays; bright orange sits right along the toe box and top line coupled with militaristic olives in connection to classic MA-1s. These leafy greens are displayed in more of a smorgasbord of shades across the next as its entire arrangement swaps mostly between different variations. Akin to an adult pair of oxfords, the last replaces suedes for leathers with deep browns polished next to a base of lightly tinted swathes. Grab a look at all three right here and find them adding to the expansive list of Saturday releases on October 12th.
