Jovani Hernandez The adidas Superstar has appeared in dozens of notable ensembles throughout its 50th anniversary. Before 2020 closes, the shell-toe is set to launch overseas in two colorways, with each ostensibly nodding to the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.
As with some of the model’s most iconic arrangements, the upper and sole unit indulge in a “Footwear White” base. Profile 3-Stripes, branding across the tongue and heel, and panels at the rear deviate from the understated makeup in alternating tones depending on the pair: orange and blue on one, while purple and gold on the other. Although neither option is touted as inspired by either basketball franchise, both wouldn’t be adidas‘ first tribute to the model’s hoops-legacy of the year.
No stateside adidas.com release details are known, but these two shell-toes arrive overseas on December 19th. In the meantime, enjoy official images of both pairs here below.
