Throughout its almost four-decade history, the Nike Air Force 1 has undergone a myriad of makeovers. However, the Swoosh’s design team seems to be far from exhausted of creative ideas. For an upcoming arrangement, Bruce Kilgore’s design gets a balanced touch of green and purple accents and a colored outsole for a playful take on an otherwise triple-white design.
Uppers are in a classic white smooth leather to create a clean slate for further fun. To obstruct the plain base, green is applied to the leather side Swoosh and branding on the tongue label, heel tab, and midsole. This bright hue is offset by purple used on the tongue label, heel tab, and the two striped details on the midsole. Underfoot, a third shade is introduced into the mix—specifically a golden gum. Nike doesn’t explicitly cite a source of inspiration for the design, letting wearers’ imaginations run wild when evaluating the color scheme—whether that means Donatello from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” The Joker, or even Mardi Gras coming to mind.
