As one of the country’s (and the world’s) biggest sportswear brands, Nike consistently devises designs that honor different cities across the U.S. The Swoosh’s next destination is Mexico City as it adds a Nike Blazer Mid to the upcoming “Lucha Libre” Pack.
Unlike the Nike Air Force 1 that enters the ring clad in lace guard overlays that mimic the masks worn at the sporting event, this Blazer Mid dons a more less obvious approach towards the Lucha Libre theme. It sports emerald green nylon uppers with a satin-like finish that could allude to the masks or apparel worn by luchadors. The jewel-toned base is then paired with snakeskin lacestays on overlays throughout the model. Gold profile Swooshes and branding on the heel further embrace the thrill of Mexican professional wrestling. A velvety sockliner and a black sole unit continue to add a premium look and feel to the design. Cursive “Lucha Libre” text printed on the insole completes the special-edition style to pay homage to one of Mexico City’s most exciting cultural traditions.
Take a closer look at the Blazer Mid below, which will arrive at Nike.com in the coming months.
In other Swoosh-related news, the Nike Blazer Low is also joining the “Toasty” collection.
