Off-White being one of Nike’s most popular collaborators, it’s no surprise that the public is quick to make comparisons. And when the brand offers colorways like this Blazer Jumbo, they make it even easier to connect the dots.
Like Virgil Abloh’s take on the silhouette, the Blazer Jumbo is a comprehensive deconstruction that takes the original and reimagines many of its parts. The Swoosh, for example, is enlarged quite a bit, allowing it to cover a much greater distance across the profile. Elsewhere, the paneling is sized up to complement, while the collar and tooling offer elastic and ripple soles, respectively. And while none of these are entirely Off-White exclusive, the colorway pushes the pair much closer towards the collaboration’s territory. Black polishes up the side check, a “Sail” turns the midsole near vintage, and bright orange accents the upper at the toe and tongue.
If you can’t imagine coughing up what the Off-White x Blazer Mid is going for nowadays, then these might be a solid consolation. Expect a release to hit Nike.com and select retailers soon.
In other news, another Casablanca New Balance XC-72 was just revealed.
