Throughout a myriad of LeBron silhouettes offered through the years, a few themed series have made repeat appearances. While you can set your watch to team-centric editions, some are reserved for more limited use, such as the long-tenured “Liverpool” series, which is making an entrance once again on the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen.

For the uninitiated, LeBron’s link to the Premier League Club extends past the realm of his Yankees or Ohio State fandom. In 2011, the then-Heat star purchased a minority stake in the team, and in kind, pairs of “Liverpool” LeBron 9 were minted for the occasion. Since then, the motif has been revisited via the LeBron 20, an inverse pair of Retro 9s, and even an Air Max 1.

On this, his newest model, the design is flipped on its head, changing out the vivid pink and aquamarine coloring that marked their predecessors in return for a predominant Light Orewood Brown. Taken alongside the gold accents and unadorned cormorant Liverpool logo on the tongue, it’s clear that these LeBron NXXT Gens are intended to evoke an atmosphere of prestige. The traditional scheme is maintained with a Washed Teal outer sole and embroidered swoosh, but being immediately recognizable as EPL merch takes a backseat here to championship stature.
