Towards the top of last year, Nike unveiled an all new family of products- the Nike “Calm” series. Emphasizing form over function in a line of foam-heavy, easy on models, the Nike Calm Slide was met with rave reviews, followed up a few months later by the Calm Flip-Flop and Calm Mule. Now adding a fourth member to the family, Nike is giving a look at the upcoming “Calm Sandal,” set to drop in women’s sizing this summer.
Even from first glance, the Nike Calm Sandal relay their relaxed atmosphere in their design. Emphasizing rounded corners and wavy motion, you’ll struggle to find a straight line anywhere on the shoes. Keeping in concert with the two previous models, they’re made up entirely by foam and rubber. The latter graces the outsole, marked by a triangular pattern that’s become a calling card of the Calm line.
Finally, though these maintain a Birkenstock-like silhouette, the strap towards the forefront is static, leaving the medial strap as the one spot able to adjust fit. Both the formal aspects and the design principles of the Nike Calm Sandal are meant to slide into wherever your travels take you.
The Nike Calm Sandal is set to launch this summer in this debut “Triple White” colorway. As of right now a retail price isn’t confirmed either, but stay tuned to our site and Twitter for the most up-to-date coverage on this new addition. Scroll down for a full suite of official images.
Elsewhere for Nike, the VERDY Nike SB Dunk “Vista” looms as one of this year’s biggest drops.
