The sneaker world can often seem like it’s dominated by a sea of collaborations and hyped Jordan releases, yet oftentimes PE pairs are the grails of all grails. Outside of their highly limited production numbers, it provides an opportunity to clad classic silhouettes in team-centric palettes they’d never take to otherwise. However, getting your hands on a pair typically ranges from literally impossible to just practically so.

Despite that, sneakers like the Nike LeBron 4 “Fruity Pebbles” or Air Jordan 5 “Oregon” have managed to buck the trend. That is to say, they went from extremely sought after curiosity to widely available pair almost entirely on the strength of public demand.
