The Nike Air Force 1 Low has already cemented itself within the sneaker pantheon. And while it could spend the rest of its lifecycle in both “Triple White” and “Triple Black,” Bruce Kilgore’s decades-old design hasn’t been satisfied with simply resting on its laurels.
Throughout the first six months of 2021, the iconic silhouette has indulged in dozens of colorways drawing inspiration from the fight spirit of Mexican women to indigo plant dyes. More unorthodox ensembles are surely on the way, but the most recent style forgoes any overt inspiration for a springtime-appropriate “Sea Glass/Seafoam/Pure Violet” color palette. At a glance, the upcoming low-top Nike Air Force 1 appears like any other makeup one might find at their local sporting goods store, but closer inspection reveals an experimental build. Exposed foam sits between the smooth leather base and fabric overlays, donning a “Pure Violet” tone. Maintenance of the spongy material is questionable, but it delivers an eye-catching look out-of-the-box. The faint green that takes over the aforementioned panels also appears on the outsole, creating a look that’s perfect for the warmer months of the year.
